we have hardly achieved before - a family christmas partay.
Few minds have been planning for this night but nothings gonna materialize
without all your cooperation.
I plead for your time and patience to get this over and done with, so
that futher arrangement could be made.
Below is a space where u leave down ur name if
you are able to come and celebrate this joyous day together.
I beg all to attend, a time to come together and mingle around.
Catch up with long lost friends, and build a closer and more appreciated friendship.

FFUSAP

UPDATE

Ant's name has been added into the call web. i think some of u are a little blur on what's going on. I'll spell things out.

When u receive a notification (call / sms) frm tt particular person informing abt ss, obviously u reply to tt person. U do not reply to me. The person who contacted u shall then consolidate and reply to me. So based on the web, i should only receive notice frm 3 pple, seng, ven and yogi. I shall then consolidate and then send out the confirmation if there is enough peeps for ss. If there is not enough, i will then inform the 3 of them and get them to spread the msg across again.

And u all give chance leh... i also human, will make mistakes one. accidentally left out some peeps in the web and i kena bomb.. i have put in the effort to see who often contacts who and thus i did up this web. gimme credit also lah...

last but not least, same thing i wanna say. if u realise any mistakes with this web still, pls tag and let me know. i'll make the necessary amendments. pls understand tt it's not easy doing the consolidation and organising for such a big grp. Take note tt this web doesnt necessary have to be for ss only. If there's any outing u guys wanna organise, also can make use of it ya?

Some Priorities To Be Addressed To...

After brainstorming about the necessary objectives to be overcomed in prior, i would like to list them down so as to "steer the boat back to its sailing line"

1) Commitment - lets have a standard routine of training sessions. Once a month on the field? We can always find an empty field to train. Our treasurer can collect a fund of $2 bucks a month to buy us kits like soccer ball, cones, water, etc. Can always shut down the trg session when exams come.

2) Position - i know everybody would like to play in their desired positions. But just to let u know, Our team is facing overcrowding issues. Too few defenders and too many midfielders. My best suggestion to overcome this problem is to conduct training sessions and train each and every of us to be able to take on 2 positions - ATTACKING and DEFENDING. This versatility will aid us during players shortage problems.

3) Having a fixed committee to lead us - Positions Needed
1) Team Captain -
2) Vice Cap -
3) Vice Cap 2 -
4) Treasurer -
5) Kitsman -

Blame game.

some words of wisdom in response to the latest post.

1. No player is bigger than the team itself. Like it or not, there isnt much of a choice that day considering the limited turnout. Everyone would hve loved to play in their favourite positions; but in situations like this, i believe everyone will want to help the team in every possible way. Just look at how Gerrard has been employed for both club and country. There should be no complaints about it on any part.

2. Attitude. Totally agree with Ant's view. No matter how badly the team was playing. No one should just walk out on the team like that. Esp. when the team is already depleted and lacking match fitness. It is a complete letdown with such actions.

3. Arrogance. What arrogance is there? Put it simply, our team lacks match-fitness. Period. There is really notin much more than that. Nothing is wrong with the attitude. Just got to play more on field and get used to playing on grass that's all.

Let's put an end to this blame game. This matter is blowing out of proportion.

Let's just start playing more matches. That should do the trick .

Tomy go organize it. We'll play and learn along the way.

- Sickened FFU member -
So many posts suddenly!
Good? Cos we're reflecting, we know the problem, we wanna improve and start winning when we have the potential.
Bad? We're just talking and talking, and there'll be no actions to prove our worth.

How much do we value victories over defeats.
We cant even hold our heads high to say that we lost even though we had a great game.
We lost because we're lousy?
Nope!
We lost because we were plain arrogant.
We never value each and every opponents as a level above us.
We have too much in our heads.

Apologises for a devastating first half performance as a right back.
The two goals were gifted from me to the opponents.
It has been a long time since I felt the fresh air and the green at my feet.
I'm disgusted with my performance.
I apologise once again.
But I hope you'll understand, I would rather contributed much more in my natural position, than to fill some positions I'm incapable of.

If you want to start smelling victories,
If you want to repay the faithfuls who sat there and supported us,
Pls start listening to instructions from the important people in the team.
Pls start committing alil more of your time.
Pls start focusing.

I seriously think that we have to have a rightful captain for the team.
His role will be major.
My vote will go to Siang.
Above all, we should also start with some other roles within the team.
Like leaders, like men, else we'll all be running like headless chickens.

A round of applause to those who gave their comments, those who are taking the effort to make things right, those who are looking to gear us up as a team....Thank you.

Its your choice, you have your faith.

-Today, the gods will be witness, the gods will be our fans-

Back to basic..

Well guys..what i really feel why we lost in the match is bcoz we lacking in our basic in field soccer..In a team, there are lots of people and naturally each of us have our strength and weakness..But did we ever come to think did we REALLY prepare and condition ourselves for the match? Did we have regular field training session? Are we brushing up on our weaknesses and maintaining our strength thru regular field training? Its true that we have SS sessions on quite a regular basis but ultimately SS and Field Soccer are of different components..Look at those Di Zhong Hai players playing against us..They are not much fitter than us but they are playing smart on the field..No doubt stamina is important too but the main key we lacking in is that we need to play smart on the field..not like those young kids style of playing..chiong n chiong..how much can 1 chiong?

I believe in FFU..there are some that are better in soccer and some are weaker in soccer..but i feel that in order for a team to realli function as a team those stronger players shud help to give advice and help those weaker one to become stronger and a better player.. Its only when all of us can align ourselves together..then we can shine better as a team.. Just like studying for an exam..Studying in groups help alot as if one do not understand the others can help to explain and thus we learn together.. Going for regular lessons and revising constantly are like regular field trainings for us.. U all think bo go class bo revise bo study ...end of the year u take exam u can score 1st class honors results ah? Once in a while one might heng heng scrape thru the exam and score well..But again..wat are the chances?! Consistency is the thing we need to look into if we really wan to play well as a team..and we learn to build trust in every member in FFU.. Playing without trust in a team is totally crap..On the field, there are only 11 of us..if one dun trust anyone from the team aint we like playing with lesser people?

Another point to add, i feel that being part of a team..its rather quite irresponsible to leave half way thru a match..I guess no matter how piss off u can be with the team one shud not just walk out half way.. During the match, no doubt emotions will run in but i think we shud keep our cool and play on..If realli buay tahan take a break and cool urself down ya..

I hope everyone who is reading this take it from a objective and positive point of view..Not directing at anyone fault but i am just giving from a TEAM view...And if we really want to commit ourselves to field soccer..maybe alternate weeks of SS and Field Soccer will be good..and maybe some jogging sessions too...Well it all voice down to every single one in FFU for the team commitment..

" Its easy to talk and talk..But its always HARDER to put words into ACTIONS"

Overseas Report

After reading the match report and gathering feedback from WeeSiang, this is what I have to say ...

All along I felt that field soccer is not our forte because we are just not used to playing such a big field afterall coz we have been playing street soccer for such a long time. When playing with a small court like street soccer, you can do whatever you want on the court like dribbling from one end to the other, triple step-overs, rainbow kick and etc coz even when u lose posession, u can easily run back coz its such a small court. However on the field its really a different thing, imagine running up and down the field for 10 times ? Unless your stamina is of like Lionel Messi or Wayne Rooney, or else its pretty tiring for u and for the whole team who is covering for ur mistake.

But the whole point that I wana highlight to you guys is that we need to defend and attack as a team !!

Whats the point of trying to dribble past the defender when all u could do is to play a one-two with someone ? Its not that I do not encourage my mifielders to take on defenders but its just that you can't do it all the time. Yes you can dribble past one defender ... but how about the 2nd and 3rd defender ? What are the chances of dribbling past the 3rd defender? Is it worth to lose that goal scoring chance ? Besides its pretty tiring to keep dribbling for the whole match, you need to preserve energy so that u can last the whole match. Plus everyone have a standard dribbling pattern, once the defender have fully analysed your dribbling tactic then its GG for u ....

Whats the point of trying to run into space and shoot the moment our mifielder receives the ball when we could just slowly attack ? That's the main problem u see, everytime when our mifielder receives the ball , our strikers will just run forward thinking that they could make a "Zidane" like through pass to them and 9 out of 10 times , we will be caught offside. GOAL SCORING CHANCE GONE !! Instead our strikers should drop back to support our mifielders so that we could slowly start our attacking play. In this way, the strikers can create more space for the mifielders to run into as the defenders will try to get the ball from you.

Next up, one of the most important thing which I have learnt : POSITIONING. In a game, positioning is very important as once you are out of position means that there will be a gap for the opposition to start attacking. So always try to stay within your zone if not once someone loses possession, it will be quite easy for the opposition to start attacking the gap left by you.

In order to start attacking, we need to support the player who is holding the ball by running into space. You can't expect our mifielders to do a 360 turn before passing the ball to u right ? You need to create space for yourself so that the pass to u won't be intercepted and at the same time draw the defender towards you so that there will be space for our mifielders to run onto. When i say support the player, its means that you run towards him not away from him. By playing close together, there will be lesser chance for mistakes to happen as all we need to do is to use our instep to make a decent pass towards you.

In a match, I feel that we should always try to make short passes instead of long passes as all of us are not David Beckham who can make a 30 yard so accurately that it will land in front of the running player.

Everytime when you guys are playing in a match, remember this 3 words "TRAP LOOK PASS" ...

But dun feel dishearten guys, we are still learning as the day goes by and I am sure we can all improve as a team :)

Sports Section - Time to buck up guys...

Hi, as you all know, last sun's match was a disaster for us. I'm sorry i failed to lead the team well. I've got quite a number of things to say, so bear with it for a while and read on...

As you all know, a few of us give a few ideas on stuff like getting new jerseys, organise training, etc. But i would like to highlight to you guys the meaning of getting a team jersey - "Behaving like a team"
1) Are we playing like a team?
2) Is everybody serious abt FFU as a SOCCER TEAM?

I understand, everybody's point of view varies. Some of you may think soccer is just a leisure game, some take it seriously. But i would like to ask you guys to help me pull the team together if you take FFU as a team for you to train to be a team member, and stay healthily fit.

From here i would like to go into more details of our TRANSFORMATION.
i would like to give a fixed position for everyone and have a more defined tactics for our future games.

1) Ang Zaw ( GK )
2) Xuan You ( GK / DMC )
3) Johnny ( DL / DR )
4) Wee Siang ( DC ) Captain
5) Kelvin Peh ( DC/MR/SC )
6) He Chi ( DC )
7) Xuan Wei
8) Boon Siong
9) Ivan ( ML / MR )
10) Kah Yong ( MC )
11) Yong Jie ( MC )
12) Xian Min ( FC )
13) Wee Seng ( FC )
14) Tom ( FC )
15) Zhishen
16) Zhenghui Treasurer
17) Edmond
18) Hong
19) Anthony
20) Hon Peow (AMC / DR ) Head Coach
21) Emmanuel
22) Don
23) Ah Lam

Some of the positions are not filled up yet, but i need you guys to try to fill it up with your preferred position.

From this stage onwards, i would like you guys to take it a more serious approach so at least we have an answer to ourselves "we tried our very best to be at our very best"

what are the things we need to do?
1) Organise training sessions for field-play and SS
( No worries i can find empty field )
2) Tactical Definition - fixed positions and discuss how to play tgr
3) Treasury to have a healthy funds for kits

4) Team Jerseys ($17 bucks cheap cheap)
5) Learn to play as a team. Play to our strengths, and cover for one another's weaknesses.

To end this post, i would like to empthasize on the fact that our behaviour on the field also reflects what type of person we are. Maybe it is time for us to change and maturize our way of dealing with things. Just my 2 cents worth.
Thanks.

(Pls give suggestions or voice out ur unhappiness along the way)
